I’ve just been chatting to author Felix Francis (son of champion jockey and international best-selling writer Dick Francis) and anti-establishment food blogger and supperclub innovator Kerstin Rodgers about how the Queen Mother took her tea, and what really happened to Devon Loch (anyone who’s known me for years, will know that was a very exciting conversation to be having!).
It’s all down to my role assisting on the marketing of Isle of Wight Literary Festival, a fun gig I took on in my ‘spare time’ (anyone who knows me well will also know what a ridiculous construct that sentence is). It has been frustrating not being able to devote as much time to it as I’d have liked, as the event has so much potential. But it has been a lot of fun, and it’s incredibly gratifying when authors like Felix and Kerstin were kind enough to say lovely things about the marketing and social media campaign I’ve been running (particularly given that Kirsten began her writing career with online postings!).
The festival runs all weekend, so I’ll be tweeting from the diverse event @IOWLF
