Introducing Helen Fretter

Helen Fretter

I am a freelance journalist who specialises in sailing. For nine years I was deputy editor of Yachts & Yachting magazine. I have also been published in regional and national press on travel, property and lifestyle, health and education, and welcome commissions on a wide range of subjects.

Helen is a pleasure to work with – not only because she’s rigorous, punctual and very precise in her writing / proof-reading work. Someone you can trust to deliver quality without worrying about the deadline… Highly recommended!

After reading English Literature at Oxford University, I completed City University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Newspaper Journalism. In 2002 I joined Yachts & Yachting magazine, and have since enjoyed over a decade writing about the many lures of the sea, and attending events held on its many shores.

I began True Angle Editorial in 2008. I continue to work as a freelance sailing journalist, and have also reported on some of the most exciting events in the international yacht racing calendar as a member of the media team.

One of my favourite commendations was the international client who nicknamed me the Editing Fairy. Together with a team of talented designers and photographers I can offer a full copywriting and production service for both marine and non-marine businesses, including press releases, social media, and promotional literature.

I welcome editorial commissions, editing and copywriting enquiries, and all opportunities to work on the media team of projects and events run by passionate and talented people.
